Gorilla Trekking
Overview
Gorilla trekking in Magahinga National Park or Bwindi National Park is an experience that will leave you in awe. This protected area in southwestern Uganda is home to a population of mountain gorillas, one of the rarest and most endangered species on earth.
The park's gorilla families are found in the dense forests on the slopes of the Mountains, which straddle the borders of Uganda, Rwanda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. To reach them, you'll need to embark on a guided trek through the rainforest, navigating steep inclines and thick vegetation to reach the gorillas' habitat. But the effort is well worth it – when you finally come face-to-face with a gorilla family, your heart will soar.
Beyond the gorillas, Magahinga National Park and Bwindi National Park is also home to a wide range of other wildlife, including golden monkeys, buffalo and various bird species. The park's stunning landscapes, which encompass bamboo forests, lava tubes and high-altitude swamps, offer a unique backdrop to your trekking adventure.
